In the surfing culture, whenever we lose a loved one, we host a paddle out to commemorate their life and share personal stories, memories and gratitude to the life they lived. As we know, our savior, Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross on this memorial day we call Good Friday and we want to commemorate his death by holding this surfing tradition and recognizing His life here on earth.
Who is welcome? Everyone! Even if you don’t feel comfortable paddling out, we welcome you to join us on the beach during our brief message and then walk out on the pier afterwards as we paddle out to participate and throw flowers off the pier as well!
What to bring? Surfboard! Wetsuit! Flowers or Lei to throw in the water during our ceremony. And a friend!
